N-SIDE achieves ISO 14001 certification

N-SIDE is proud to announce a significant milestone in its sustainability efforts. Following a thorough process, N-SIDE is now ISO 14001-certified in environmental management. This certification sets a framework to accomplish an ambitious goal in line with our vision to build a healthy and sustainable world by optimizing decisions.

N-SIDE is now recognized for its commitment to identifying, managing and reducing its impact on the environment from its operations, through a comprehensive Environmental Management System. The ISO 14001 certification demonstrates N-SIDE’s pledge to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. 

Sustainability, a key element at N-SIDE

Sustainability is deeply rooted in our DNA. We empower organizations in the life sciences and energy sectors to optimize the use of critical resources. To do so, we combine deep industry expertise with applied mathematics and artificial intelligence into innovative software solutions. In life sciences, we notably reduce by up to 60% the amount of drug waste in clinical supplies. In energy, we accelerate the transition toward renewables and electrification by enabling leading grids and market players in making better, faster, and safer decisions. It was therefore obvious for N-SIDE to identify and manage its own environmental impact.

To achieve the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard, N-SIDE appointed one of the world’s leading certification bodies, Bureau Veritas. According to Maud Larochette, CFO and Director of the People and Business Organization at N-SIDE, the certification process was challenging and rewarding. “During several months, we had to put in place processes and procedures suited for N-SIDE’s size and nature of business. It included performing an in-depth analysis of our environmental impact as well as ensuring that sustainability is continually monitored, tracked, and improved. In the end, we were able to set up an effective Environmental Management System”.

Framing our initiatives to achieve a major sustainable objective

This certification gives N-SIDE a framework to structure its sustainability efforts to achieve an ambitious goal: becoming CO2 neutral by 2030. With the support of the top management and the collaboration of all N-SIDErs, we now hold all the cards to achieve this major objective by:

• Identifying environmental risks and opportunities; 

• Developing action plans to mitigate environmental risks and implementing opportunities;    

• Identifying and tracking our environmental KPIs to understand where we stand and provide insights to achieve our main environmental objective;

• Ensuring we have enough resources to effectively manage our Environmental Management System;

• Monitoring our compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

N-SIDE is now among the 300,000 ISO 14001-certified organizations. In addition to this new certification, N-SIDE is also a certified B Corp organization since March 2020 and recently obtained the CO2 Neutral Label for the third consecutive year. These achievements further demonstrate that N-SIDE is committed more than ever to sustainability efforts and holds the right assets to become CO2 neutral in the years to come.
