Can technological growth truly coexist with our planet’s limits? At N-SIDE, we believe the answer lies in moving past hollow “carbon neutral” claims and toward mathematical rigor. For us, sustainability isn’t a separate CSR line item but a core metric of our performance.

From our B Corp certification to our SBTi-aligned trajectories, we have built a strategy where data serves both profit and the planet. Here is a look at our progress and the numbers behind it

The -51.3% milestone: decoding our emissions

In the climate economy, data is the only currency that matters. We have just effectively halved our carbon debt. Between fiscal years 2024 and 2025, our total emissions fell from 1,934.9 to 945.8 t CO2e.

While a 51.3% decrease looks incredible on paper, we believe in transparency and full context: this drop follows a peak in FY24 caused by our office relocation and a major car fleet transition. However, even when we exclude the one-off impact of our move, we maintained a 15% net reduction. This success rests on two structural pillars:

  • Switching to a passive infrastructure: Moving to our BREEAM-certified passive building in Louvain-la-Neuve has transformed our energy footprint. Its immediate proximity to public transport also acts as a permanent lever for decarbonization.
  • The mobility revolution: We are aiming for a 100% electric fleet by 2029 and a drastic optimization of our car policy. We are tackling our primary source of emissions head-on.

B Corp excellence: more than a badge

As the first company in Wallonia to be B Corp certified back in 2020, we reached a symbolic milestone during our 2024 recertification. With a score of 116.4, we recorded a 28% progression, crushing the European average for first-time recertifications (13.3%).

This score ranks us second among Belgian companies in our category (50-249 employees) and third in the Benelux tech sector. It’s proof that operational choices, like investing in sustainable offices, pay off in objective assessments.

Breaking the glass ceiling through data: 42% women at C-Level

Sustainability is as much about people as it is about carbon. In a tech sector that often struggles with gender balance, we’ve worked to ensure our leadership reflects our values. While women represent one-third of our overall workforce, they hold 42% of our leadership positions (C-level).

This representation is backed by a commitment to pay equity. Our global gender pay gap is contained at ~3% (dropping below 1% for most job levels), significantly lower than the 13% OECD average. Beyond the numbers, we advocate for a culture of authenticity where being yourself is a daily reality that no longer requires specific “protection.” With over 30% international collaborators, diversity isn’t a quota for us but the DNA of our innovation.

The multiplier effect: impact through optimization

Our true leverage extends far beyond our own office walls. As experts in mathematical optimization, we generate systemic impact through our solutions:

  • Life Sciences: By minimizing waste in clinical trials through optimized production and distribution, we reduce the pharmaceutical industry’s environmental footprint.
  • Energy: By facilitating the integration of renewable energies into power grids, our algorithms tangibly accelerate the global energy transition.

This is where profit and mission merge: every deal we make contributes directly to reducing the waste of critical resources on a global scale.

A culture of “total ownership”

Impact at N-SIDE is not a top-down directive. It is driven by internal committees with total autonomy and dedicated budgets. Whether it’s through volunteering afternoons or organizing community-building events, it is our “N-SIDErs” who keep the heart of the company beating. This sense of ownership ensures that sustainability remains a living practice.
